Season passes - one class per week for 9 weeks - $95.00 - unlimited classes for 9 weeks - $160.00 (pre-school children prices include one accompanying guardian).
Family discount - 2 family members purchasing a pass 10% off - 3 members 15% off - 4 members 20% off and so on...

Class Descriptions
Brazilian Drumming
Fun and excitement in an environment where kids are allowed to be obnoxiously loud while directing their energy into learning rhythmic skills and songs from various traditional styles. Participants will learn the parts for several different instruments including hand drums, bass drums, snare drums, shakers and bells. The arrangements have parts appropriate for every skill level and no one is left out.
Benefits of Drumming Classes for Kids
Improved concentration; Physical exercise; Stress release; Improved co-ordination; Musical ensemble and leadership skills; Basic understanding of a foreign language (Brazilian Portuguese and Yoruba); Appreciation of cultural differences and history.
Capoeira (Brazilian Martial Arts)
Developed by slave descendants in Brazil, capoeira is a multidisciplinary art form that encompasses music, dance, exercise, acrobatics and self-defense. Students will learn basic defense movements along with all of the cultural aspects of capoeira. Discipline, Intense physical exercise, self-defense, coordination and endurance are some of the wonderful benefits of capoeira.
Toddlers Dance
Children and parents collaborate in an involving story that incorporates dance, coordinated movement and creative expression. Classes are based on stories and songs that become real when enacted by the children and their parents. Each toddler must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Baby Bounce
Dancing and exercising with your baby can be this fun and this easy! Save the sitter hassle and make your workout fun and inclusive for your baby - get help and expert advice using baby carriers so you can be useful and productive while your baby is in the comfort of parental physical warmth!

African Dance (family - all ages)
The richness of African dance portraits the activities of day to day of villagers in country side Africa. This interactive dance class will teach basic dance movements in an invigorating workout, involving multiple coordination, and rhythmic understanding it will challenge students to their maximum ability.
Brazilian Dance (8-12 years) (13-16 years)
The aliveness of Brazilian culture is due mainly to the richness of drumming and dance styles. One does not exist without the other! This class takes the students through basic movements that enrich the famous Brazilian carnival in all its excellence.
Luciano Porto teacher and program director has been working with children for over seven years as a music artist at Trinity Bellwoods CARE and Art in the Park programs, he has also taught ongoing percussion classes at Fern Public School and given workshops at other schools and daycares. Luciano presently teaches private music lessons at Trinity Recreational Centre at Bavia Arts' studio and is part of the roster of Artists in Education program for the OAC.

Choose from our Brazilian Drumming, African Drumming, Samba Bateria Drumming, Afro-Brazilian Dance, African Dance, Brazilian Ball-room dance, Capoeira, Mask/Costume Design, Instrument Building Shop or Yoga workshops. We can also customize a program to suit your needs or organization size.
